Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 - September Square by Pukado

Oh gosh.. totally lost track of date and found out yesterday, only 2 more days until September! So I got  my mood blanket project bag out and started thinking. I made a few squares, but wasn’t happy with all of them. So I left it until the morning and tried again and it worked.

Ok so here we go!

R1, MC, SLST in MC, CH2, 11DC in MC, SLST to first DC - 12DC

R2, CH3, DC in same st, 2DC in next st, drop loop, insert hook in last CH of CH3, pick up dropped loop, pull through (first PopCorn St made), CH5, *2DC in next 2 st, drop loop, insert hook in last CH of CH3, pick up dropped loop, pull through, CH5* repeat around, SLST to first PopCorn st - 6 PopCorn st

R3, CH2 (or if you work with color changes, SLST on top of PopCorn st), 2HalfDCs in same st (first Cluster made), YO 2 times, insert hook around post of R1, YO and pull through, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and pull through 2 loops, insert hook in loop halfway TR made (see picture) ----->

Add 2 halfDCs, YO and pull through all loops on hook, CH3, 3HalfDCs in same space as previous HalfDCs, 3HalfDCs on top of next PopCorn st, YO and pull through all loops on hook, CH3,

*3HalfDCs in same st as previous HalfDCs, YO 2 times, insert hook around post of R1, YO and pull through, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and pull through 2 loops, insert hook in loop halfway TR, add 2 halfDCs, YO and pull through all loops on hook, CH3, 3HalfDCs in same space as previous HalfDCs, 3HalfDCs on top of next PopCorn st, YO and pull through all loops on hook, CH3* repeat around, SLST to first cluster.

R4, *3SC, CH2* in each CH3Space (if your square turns out a bit smaller, you can change the SC to HDC to make it a bit bigger)

R5, SLST (in) to next CH2Space, 3DC in CH2Space, 6DC in next CH2Space, *(6DC, CH2, 6DC) in next CH2Space, 6DC in next 2 CH2Spaces* repeat around, last series you will add 3DC to first CH2Space to complete the series. Do not fasten off, you will continue R6 in same color.

R6, *CH3, SC on top of the next shell, CH3, SC on top of the next shell, CH3, SLST in corner CH2Space, CH3, SLST in same corner space, CH3, SC on top of the next shell, CH3, SC on top of next shell* repeat around

R7, SLST into next CH3Space, CH2, 3HDC in same CH3Space, *4HDC in each of next CH3Spaces until you reach a corner, 2HDC, CH2, 2HDC in corner space* repeat all around, SLST to first HDC.

Fasten off with invisible join, weave in all ends.

Crochet Mood Blanket - July Square - by Pukado

After last months craziness with my June Square, I’m a bit scared now hahaha Not sure if I can make another big hit! But then, this is my 7th square this year already and I’m happy how it turned out!

For my blanket I use Stylecraft DK and hook size 4.5mm. For the example in this pattern I use different colors of Catania and Phildar and hook size 4mm.

I hope you like this one as much as the last 6 squares!

R1, MC, 12DC in MC

R2, *Puffstitch, CH1* repeat in each st around (pull up loop 4 times per puff stitch)

R3, *SLST in CH1Space, CH4, SLST in same CH1Space, SLST in next CH1Space* repeat around

R4, *4SC in CH4Space, CH1* repeat around

R5, *(3HDC, CH1) in next CH1Space, (4HDC, CH2) in next CH1Space, (4DC, CH1) in next CH1Space* repeat around

R6, (R4 ended in the first  CH1Space on the side, so that’s where I pick up again), 3DC in CH1Space, 6DC in next CH1Space, *(6DC, CH2, 6DC) in neaxt CH2Space, 6DC in next 2 CH1Spaces* repeat around, last series you will add 3DC to first CH1Space to complete the series. Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 - June Square - by Pukado Free Pattern

End of the month again, I’m up to date with my blanket! And whipped up a new square to make in June. It’s a flowery one again and a bit more open. Made again with Stylecraft acrylic yarn and hook size 4.5mm

But for the pattern I will be doing it a bit different. This square would be lovely with multiple colors, therefore I will be making the pictures of this pattern with vibrant colors from Phildar Phil No4 and hook size 3.5mm. Just to show you how pretty it can be with multiple colors.

I will join each row with an invisible join and weave in the ends.

R1, MC, 12DC in MC - 12st

R2, *PopCorn stitch, CH1* in each st around - 24st

***Pop Corn Stitch -

4DC in same st, drop loop, insert hook in the first DC, grab loop and pull through first DC***

R3, *{DC, TRDown, DC cluster}, CH2* in each CH1Space - 12 CH2Spaces

***TRDown is a Triple Crochet around the post of DC of R1***

R4, *(4HDC, CH1) in next CH2Space, (5HDC, CH2) in next CH2Space, (5DC, CH1) in next CH2Space* repeat around

April Square is here!! Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 by Pukado

OMG, it's already the last day of March! Time flies, crazy!!

So a quick post as I'm busy with the prep work for my little girl's 6th (!!!!) birthday party this weekend.

Lots of baking, cooking and cleaning and no time for crocheting (hahaha as if...) and other stuff!

So I already had the square done 2 weeks ago, but haven't gotten around to write it down and take pictures.

Crochet Your Mood Blanket 2014 - March Square - Free pattern

Yes, it's time again for a new Square for March!

I was pondering what to do for this square. In the meanwhile I was working on a few other projects, My Watermelophant, a new spring flower project and my Color Explosion Ottoman.

I was watching the kids play and their inflatable ottomans were just bugging me. I don't like stuff with popular characters on it. I think it's ugggggly. But the kids like it and I can't stop other people from giving it to them. So I told Aoibhinn I will make a pretty rainbow cover. She wasn't to sure. But as soon as I finished it, she loved it! Now I have to make another one for the boy. Because he likes the lovely colours as well! And I have a few more requests, but I have to figure out supplies and price first before I can commit to orders.

I love it. It lights up the room by just sitting there!!!

But we're here for the March Square and it's a beauty!!
