Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 - August Square by Pukado

Pffff I was worried I didn’t have enough time to come up with a new square for August with our holiday and my boy’s 5th Birthday this week. But it just came to me yesterday and I’m loving it!

First off all, we had a wonderful holiday in beautiful Bavaria, Germany.
My Grandfather of 91 years lives there with my Uncle and Aunt.

When we lived in Ireland, it was difficult to visit. So now that we're back in the Netherlands we decided to go visit my grandfather every summer and make it a holiday to enjoy and relax. The weather is wonderful. There is a swimming pool close by for the kids to play in. The food is amazing and cheap. And according to my husband, there is no better beer!

Every year we book the same lovely holiday apartment. The apartment is great, big and modern and the views are just magnificent! It is run by a lovely family and if you ever decide to visit the lovely lovely area of the OberPfalz I can highly recommend the Kopp Family and their lovely holiday homes in UntermurnThal.

No we have to wait a whole year before we can go again.... *sigh*

And yes my baby boy turns 5(!!!!) this week. How? It seems like yesterday that we were in a mad rush to find a babysitter for the princess when my labour started. We had arranged for Granny to come over from the Netherlands to babysit and help out in the first week. But the boy decided to surprise us by arriving a week earlier then planned!

So a busy week ahead of us with lots of BBQ parties and celebrations.

But now onto my August square!

Hope you like it as well!

You can download it here on Ravelry

As usual, I’m using Stylecraft Special DK and hook size 4.5mm

In the pattern pictures I will be using cotton in different colors and hook size 4mm. I will fasten off after each round with an invisible join. If you make it in one color, you don’t need to fasten off every round.

Again first few rounds with pictures, the outer rounds are still the same, with the same amount of stitches!

So here it goes!

R1, MC, SLST in MC, CH2, 11DC in MC, SLST to first DC - 12DC

R2, *CH6, skip st, SLST in next ST* repeat around - 6 CH6Spaces

R3, Fold the CH6 of R2 back and work in front of them. SLST to first skipped st or SLST with new color in first skipped st, *CH6, SLST in next skipped st* repeat around - 6 CH6Spaces

2014-07-28 11.51.07.jpg

Do not fasten off, you will continue R8 in same color.

R8, *CH3, SC on top of the next shell, CH3, SC on top of the next shell, CH3, SLST in corner CH2Space, CH3, SLST in same corner space, CH3, SC on top of the next shell, CH3, SC on top of next shell* repeat around

April Square is here!! Crochet Mood Blanket 2014 by Pukado

OMG, it's already the last day of March! Time flies, crazy!!

So a quick post as I'm busy with the prep work for my little girl's 6th (!!!!) birthday party this weekend.

Lots of baking, cooking and cleaning and no time for crocheting (hahaha as if...) and other stuff!

So I already had the square done 2 weeks ago, but haven't gotten around to write it down and take pictures.

The pattern will be available on Ravelry as well, so please add it to your favorites and queues!!
I made a special one for my girl's birthday, you can't see the glitter and sparkle really in the picture, but it's there!!

Tulips from Amsterdam - New Pattern!

Hello!

I haven't posted in a while.. the winter blues had hit me hard and basically I couldn't find any energy to do whatsoever! Except crochet that is... always have energy for crochet.

I have so many ideas running around in my head, I just couldn't make a choice what to make and create. I was focussing on my Mood Blanket for a while and then it hit me. I must make it spring time!!! This will get my energy up! (oh and vitamin D! Helped a lot!)

What better way to say spring than some lovely tulips! Real ones die on me too quickly, so I crocheted myself  a lovely bunch of tulips! It gave me blue fingers, but they are so pretty!!! I'm so happy with them!

And then I thought, wouldn't it be supercute to have a pillow with lovely flowers on them. So I experimented with some stitches and tadaaaaa a lovely row of flowers appeared. I made the first one with Stylecraft DK and the second one with Phildar Phil Coton no 3.

It works up pretty quick and I can see lovely blankets, pillows and bags made with these. Not to forget lovely happy dishcloths and pot holders for in the kitchen!!!

And I had to make a hat off course. A summer hat! (I'm so done with hats at the moment, I can't even get a normal slouch hat finished!!!)

These are extra bonus patterns you get for free with the Tulips pattern.
With patterns for working in a row, working in the round and the hat!
